Lance Crash

Lance crashed out on the first day of the Castilla Y Leon.  Word from Johan is that it's a "clean collarbone fracture with no complications." Rae, you asked about his plans for the Giro.  My guess is he'll be out of commission for 4-6 weeks which may indeed throw a wrench into his plans for Italy in May.

According to Velo News, "Astana teammate Tomas Vaitkus, who also went down in the pile-up, approached Armstrong, but he waved him off. Vaitkus remounted his bike and continued in the race."

Lance is such a class act.  Here's hoping he gets better real soon!

Thanks to everyone who came up with such great name ideas for my new writing blog.  I decided to go with Sara's Best.  There were much more creative suggestions but since I also want to eventually use this one as a marketing tool for myself as a writer, I really wanted to keep my name in there somewhere.

On another note, Canadian rider Zach Bell (previously with Symmetrics now with Kelly Benefit Strategies) finally proposed to his girlfriend Rebecca and he had a friend hide in the bushes nearby to catch the moment on film.  How friggin' cool is that?!?!  Congrats Zach!!

Name Game

I need your help guys!  I've decided to start a second blog, this one specifically about my writing life, and I need a name.

Any ideas?  I want it to be fun so people will visit, but I don't want it to be too silly because I eventually want to be able to use it to promote myself to potential agents and editors.

Busy, busy, busy

Sorry the delay in posting.  I have piles of work lined up for the next six weeks which is great in terms of paying my mortgage and buying groceries but tough when it comes to blogging and working on my book.

Spring is finally starting to arrive up here and I couldn't be happier.  I can't wait until a couple of more months pass and we can open our pool for the first time and enjoy.  The kids are all signed up for softball and summer camp and I booked a trip for the four of us to spend a week in Cape Cod in August.  I used to work out on the Cape in the summers when I was a teenager and ever since I started having my kids I've been looking forward to the time when I could take them out there and go whale watching and visit Provincetown and Martha's Vineyard.  Can't wait!

I completed the required first three meetings with this new writer's group and received an email this weekend saying that they voted and I was unanimously accepted into the group - phew!  It's great to have another group of writers to bounce my work of off every other week.  My goal right now is to have my first edit of the whole book done by April and a second edit done in May.  Then I'm going to give it to my mom for a full evaluation.
