Today was day one of revisions. Here's how it went:
I woke up excited to get cracking on all those revision notes.
Then I got the kids fed and dressed and off to school.
Then I had coffee and breakfast.
Then I went to the gym.
Then I went to the bank.
Then I picked up the mail.
Then I read and responded to my email.
Then I checked in with some of the writing blogs I follow.
Then I updated my Facebook status to say that I was getting to work on my revisions.
Then I cleared off my desk so I would have a tidy working area.
Then I opened up Word.
Then I opened up my Chapter One file.
Then I opened up my revision notebook.
Then I stared at the screen.
Then I went to see if anyone commented on my Facebook status about getting to work on my revisions - no one had.
Then I went back to the Chapter One file.
Then I went to see if any of the writing blogs I follow had been updated - they hadn't.
Then I had run out of things to do other than start the revisions so I started the revisions.
Seriously though, once I stopped being overwhelmed by the task ahead and just got started it was great and three hours flew by before I knew what had happened.
I got through chapter one and I think it's a much better opening chapter now and I'm feeling good about how it's shaping up. I'm looking forward to tackling chapter two asap.
