I'm still alive. Actually, I'm better than just alive, I'm great.
Susie sent me a sweet email today wondering if I was okay given my total lack of posting recently. Thanks for worrying Susie but I really am fine. And thanks for thinking about my clipless pedals Janann. I adore them, have had only one minor fall, and would NEVER go back!
I've been busy with work, busy with my novel, busy with my kids, enjoying the lovely weather up here and looking at buying a new house. But none of those are really the reason why I've been AWOL lately. The truth is that I've checked myself into rehab...pro cycling rehab.
I've always loved the sport of cycling, but about two years ago was when I really fell hard. I read about it, I watched it on TV, I watching in online, I bought the magazines, I wrote about it, I started up this blog, it was sort of taking over my life. I started to spend more time in that world than in my own real world. It was too much.
When I decided to wind down this blog I also decided that it would be a good idea to take a break from the world of pro cycling in general, and that's what I did. I have absolutley no idea about what's going on in the sport. I don't know who's hot, who's not, who won what, who's dirty, who's clean and I have to confess that I'm kind of enjoying it.
Don't get me wrong. I still love the sport and, come July, I'll be glued to my TV watching the Tour every day just like everyone else but it's been a nice break and I feel more balanced in my life again.
Anyway, that's why I haven't been posting - I have nothing cycling-related to say. But I'm still around and I will be posting again more regularly soon. Thanks for caring ;)
