My Pereiro interview/article is up on the Daily Peloton. Check it out. I doubt that his responses are going to change anyone's mind about him but let me know what you think anyway. Don't say I didn't warn you about the short answers.
Discovery's Alberto Contador is still burning up the roads with a win today on stage four of the Vuelta a Castilla y León. This is Contador's fifth victory of the season already and he's proving himself to be an incredibly strong arm of the DC machine.
And the 2007 UCI Track Cycling World Championships got underway in Spain today. I enjoy the track racing and I'm a big fan of Canada's Zach Bell who is representing us there this year, but I think the thing I'm enjoying most about this year's World's is hearing Theresa root for her boy Brad Huff (Slipstream) and then having her tell us that she doesn't actually know anything about the events he's competing in. You are so funny T. I love that you love Brad so much and every rider there should be so lucky as to have a fan like you rooting for them back home. You just cack me up talking about the Omnium results and the men's individual pursuit and then telling us all that you don't really have any idea what they are.
My guy Zach was in 18th place after the men's individual pursuit race today but he said going in that he was only entering the pursuit as a warm-up for the points race later on this week. That's the event he's aiming for a medal in and the event that he hopes is going to take him to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. I have my fingers crossed.
And of course, Theresa's Brad Huff took home the bronze medal in the Omnium event which was a new event for the track World's this year. The medal is great accomplishment for Huff and for his team. I'm sure Huff has Olympic aspirations on the track as well and he's set himself up very well to qualify.
Have a good Friday guys!
